Education

Born in 1953 in Argenteuil, France.

Graduated Ecole des Beaux Arts de Nancy of Paris. Received Diploma from Ecole National Superieure des Beaux Arts de Paris in 1977.

Live and work in Bournazel (Tarn).

After having passed the Baccalauréate, I left to study at Ecole des Beaux Arts de Nancy in the northeast of France. Actually, my first desire was to make illustrations for children’s books and Ecole Nancy was well known for its training in graphic arts so I was advised to go there.

For two years, I did a great amount of work there - drawing, design, graphics, composition, etc. Then my professors all told me that I was obviously a painter.  In reality my overriding desire to paint was becoming more and more consuming. So, at the beginning of the second year, I returned to Paris and enrolled myself at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts where I was admitted to the studio of Gustave Singier.  For 3 years I followed his instruction and tackled all the material in the curriculum: history of art, techniques of painting; mosaic, fresco, anatomy, design, rudiments of architecture, etc.

Then, after three years, I obtained my degree in my speciality - painting.

In the following years I created set designs for a theater company.

From 1999 to September 2007  I divided my time between painting in my studio and running art workshops.

Since September 2007 I have chosen to concentrate on my own work.
